County wrestlers enter season with high hopes

HANCOCK COUNTY — There are high hopes for wrestlers at all four of the Hancock County schools entering the 2025-26 season.
​
All four return state qualifiers, bring back state-ranked wrestlers and have an array of strong talent.
Junior Bradyn Volz will lead Eastern Hancock as a two-time state placer, senior Cade Zuber is a returning state finalist for Greenfield-Central, Eli Brody returns as a three-time state qualifier for Mt. Vernon, and New Palestine will be led by a trio of state qualifiers in seniors Gunner Butt (three-timer) and Colin Whetsel and junior William Glesing.

One school, Greenfield-Central, will enter the season with a new head coach.
Riley McClurg takes over for longtime head coach Josh Holden at the helm of the Cougars program.
